BIOFIT wastewater treatment plant
Effective and Eco-Friendly Wastewater Treatment
BIOFIT Biological Wastewater Treatment Plant – Efficient Wastewater Treatment in Harmony with Nature
The BIOFIT treatment plant is ideally suited for treating domestic and municipal wastewater in locations too remote from the sewer network. It is a perfect solution for hotels, housing estates, residential and service buildings, tourist facilities, and service stations for travellers. The available equipment options allow the treatment plant to be tailored to the specific needs of the investor, location, and scope of service. Our extensive experience and continuous technological advancement guarantee the reliability and efficiency of every installation.

Benefits of use Application Construction and installation Operating method OperationBenefits of use
High treatment efficiency – the system can reduce the concentration of pollutants such as BOD5 in discharged wastewater by up to 98%.
Compliance with regulations – treated wastewater meets the requirements set out in the Regulation of the Minister of Maritime Economy and Inland Navigation of 12th July 2019, and can be safely discharged into a watercourse, ditch, or dispersed.
Ease of operation – the BIOFIT biological wastewater treatment plant operates without the need for constant supervision; regular inspections and sludge removal should be conducted as per the Operation & Maintenance Manual (OMM).
Compact design – the BIOFIT treatment plant occupies minimal space and is easy to transport to the installation site.
Low failure rate – the proven design of the treatment plant, absence of pumps, and monitoring capability contribute to years of trouble-free operation.
Energy efficiency – wastewater flow is achieved through gravity, resulting in low energy consumption.
Assurance of correct operation – the treatment plant comes with a 24-month warranty. If any issues arise during this period, we will swiftly address them.
Quick and simple installation – thanks to the use of prefabricated components.
Suitable for construction in various terrain conditions.
Designed for irregular wastewater flow – the BIOFIT biological treatment plant can also be used where wastewater is discharged only seasonally (e.g., in tourist facilities) or irregularly (e.g., at motorway service areas).
Application
BIOFIT biological treatment plants are particularly recommended when:
- connecting to an existing sewer network is not possible or economically viable,
- groundwater and soil conditions prevent the installation of a septic tank,
- there are uneven inflows of pollutants, e.g., in food processing plants, catering establishments, and hotels.
Where to use biological treatment plants?
- Small towns
- Facilities remote from the sewer network: residential estates, schools, industrial plants, hotels, holiday homes, service buildings,
- Service facilities along roads and motorways (petrol stations, motorway service areas)
What are the effects of using a wastewater treatment plant?
Outcomes of using a wastewater treatment plant: The physicochemical parameters of treated wastewater, such as BOD5, COD, and total suspended solids, reach values below those required by the Regulation of the Minister of Maritime Economy and Inland Navigation of 12th July 2019, § 17.1.
Construction and installation
The BIOFIT treatment plant was designed according to ATV A135 guidelines and consists of the following elements:
- a preliminary settler,
- a bioreactor with a fixed, immersed bed,
- a clarifying chamber,
- an installation chamber.
The body of the treatment plant consists of enclosed tanks installed below ground level, which does not impact the landscape, ensures safety for the surroundings, and limits the emission of potential odours. The treatment plant tanks can be constructed from C 35/45 grade concrete depending on the investor’s requirements.
The BIOFIT wastewater treatment plant operates continuously, using both mechanical and biological treatment processes on fixed beds.
- Mechanical treatment occurs in the preliminary settler, where sedimentation and flotation processes treat incoming wastewater sludge.
- Biological treatment takes place in the reactor, which contains a fixed bed with a biological layer. Air is supplied by blowers to support the biological processes. As a result, excess sludge is produced, which is transferred to the clarifying chamber and then returned to the preliminary settler. Treated wastewater can be discharged directly to the receiving body without the need for further treatment.
- Settlers are designed to even out uneven inflow of wastewater.
Operation
The BIOFIT treatment plant does not require constant maintenance; regular inspections should be carried out in accordance with the operating manual (DTR). Sludge from the preliminary settler should be removed 1-4 times per year, depending on the size and load of the treatment plant.
Ecol-Serwis offers professional water protection equipment servicing at every stage of the project.
Want to reduce the operating costs of such a treatment plant? Implement the BUMERANG SMART management system, which enables remote monitoring of the treatment plant’s operation.
