Wells and manholes
High-quality wells made of concrete and reinforced concrete
Wells and manholes are among the basic elements of storm water, sanitary, and industrial sewer systems.
Ecol-Unicon wells are highly resistant to damage and are adapted to difficult soil and water conditions, ensuring their durability for many years. Prefabrication allows for quick installation and adaptation to individual design needs. The structures are topped with manholes, guaranteeing the safety and functionality of the implemented solutions.
Top-quality materials and continuous monitoring of quality parameters at all production plants guarantee high product quality, resistance to various types of damage, and suitability for use in difficult soil and water conditions. All our products have approval documents and meet strict construction standards.
The use of high-quality concrete products is justified by their strength and weight, which ensure the durability of structures for many years. Ecol-Unicon offers a wide range of wells, whose basic designation is the internal diameter (Dw).

Application
- stormwater and/or sanitary sewer manholes, cascade manholes, inspection manholes, measuring manholes, installation manholes, or inlet manholes
- enclosures for wastewater and rainwater treatment equipment (sedimentation tanks, oil separators, grease separators, treatment plants)
- pumping station chambers
- dry chambers (dry well pumping station with solids separation enclosures, hydrophore stations, or water meter wells)
- rainwater retention tanks
- drinking water chambers
- sewage tanks (septic tanks)
- fire protection tanks
- valve chambers
- slurry tanks

Types of manholes
Manholes of a specific size and required load class are used to cover most wells and tanks. Their purpose is to provide access to equipment during installation, inspection, or maintenance work. The dimensions of the covers are adapted to the openings in the concrete covers.
The manhole class, in accordance with PN-EN 124, should be specified in the design or order, taking into account the installation location. It is also possible to use unclassified manholes made of PE-HD or stainless steel. Such solutions are only suitable for areas where there is no pedestrian or road traffic.
Construction of wells
Each of wells, regardless of type, consists of a base, superstructure rings, and a cover element. It may also include compensation rings, a manhole cover (according to PN-EN 124), and steps (according to PN-EN 13101). The wells can be equipped with a ready-made flue with dimensions adapted to the directions and diameters of the connected pipes. Sealed transitions are used to connect the inlet and outlet channels.
Concrete and reinforced concrete elements of the well are made of vibro-pressed concrete, in accordance with the PN-EN 206 standard. All components can be designed according to individual customer needs, e.g., with elements of lower water absorption, with bevels or offsets (anti-lift feet).
Prefabricated elements are joined using elastomeric seals, waterproof mortar, or epoxy resin. Bentonite seals are used to join elements with diameters (Dw) of 2000÷3000 mm.
Wells can be installed at depths of up to 10 m below ground level without the need for additional verification calculations. In the case of high groundwater levels, the stability of the body against buoyancy should be checked and, if necessary, an anti-buoyancy offset should be used.
Legal requirements and certifications

According to current regulations, wells are classified as construction products.
Wells with diameters of DN1000-1200 are marketed in accordance with the harmonized standard PN-EN1917 and bear the CE marking. Wells with diameters of DN1500-3000 are marketed in accordance with the National Technical Assessment and bear the construction mark.
Prefabricated elements DN1000-3000 are covered by a Type III Environmental Product Declaration (EPD). This is a voluntary but important document that certifies the assessment of a product’s environmental impact at specific stages of its manufacture and throughout its entire life cycle. This makes it possible to compare the environmental profile of specific products from different manufacturers.
The wells also have a hygiene certificate (NIZP-PZH) No. B.BK.60110.1168.2023 (valid until 24/08/2026).
