Ecol-Unicon Sustainability Strategy

ESG

To better respond to market needs, we are creating a comprehensive Sustainable Development Strategy. Its goal is to clearly define our actions today and set objectives for the future.

The Ecol-Unicon ESG Strategy is an integral part of our business strategy and at the same time defines our contribution to achieving the global Sustainable Development Goals set by the UN in the 2030 Agenda. At the core of this strategy are the commitments we make every day, which address the needs of all our stakeholders.

Ecol-Unicon’s Sustainable Development Best Practices

For Environmental Protection

We reduce our environmental impact

  • As the first manufacturing company in Poland, we calculated our water footprintthe collected data allowed us to implement a number of modernizations in our production plants, significantly reducing both water consumption and pollution.
  • We ensure efficient water use. In the Gdańsk plant, we launched a prototype system for using rainwater for sanitary. This is another step towards environmentally friendly production that can be extended to other facilities in the future.
  • We reduce CO2 emissions. We are modernizing our production plants in Ruda Śląska, Łódź, Gdańsk, and Radom, introducing modern technologies to reduce carbon dioxide emissions. We actively negotiate with our suppliers and business partners, choosing the most sustainable solutions available.

For People

We create safe working conditions

  • Our strength lies in our people. We value the competencies of our employees, we want to utilize their potential, provide opportunities for development, and also give them space to fulfill themselves outside of work.
  • We support health and physical activity. The Ecol-Active program is a company initiative that supports employees’ sporting and ecological activities. Sports activation aligns with the company’s values of perseverance and positive competition, while also supporting the health and efficiency of employees in both professional and private life.
  • We create a platform for discussion. Every year, we conduct Employee Satisfaction Surveys, and feedback from the surveys forms the basis for HR changes. Initiating monthly Board meetings with Employees and creating a platform for addressing current questions has significantly improved communication within the organization.

For Business and Stakeholders

We create transparent and highest management standards

  • We are in the 30% Club. We deeply believe that gender balance promotes better leadership and management, translating into results at every level. At the end of 2023, the company recorded a 34% share of women in managerial functions within the organization, allowing the company to effectively apply to the 30% Club Poland. In an industry considered “male-dominated,” there are more and more women, as confirmed by the employment structure at Ecol-Unicon.
  • We build ESG-centric business relationships. The costs associated with sustainable development are significant, but we treat them as an investment in the future of the company and all its stakeholders.
