The dynamic development of technical infrastructure and the growing demand for water of appropriate quality required the modernization of the water supply system in the Chąśno Municipality. The existing infrastructure in the village of Goleńsko did not ensure stable operating parameters or sufficient reliability of water supply for residents.

The objective of the investment titled “Construction of a booster pumping station in the village of Goleńsko” was to build a modern water treatment plant enabling effective treatment of groundwater by removing undesirable elements and contaminants, as well as ensuring appropriate physicochemical and bacteriological parameters. As a result of the project, the facility’s capacity was almost doubled, which allowed for increased water availability and improved safety and continuity of supply.

The investment was carried out by Ecol-Unicon under a “design and build” formula and constitutes an important element of the long-term activities of the Chąśno Municipality aimed at improving residents’ quality of life, environmental protection, and sustainable water resource management.

Scope of work

Scope of work wideo play
  • development of a concept for the expansion of the Water Treatment Plant in Goleńsko and preparation of complete design documentation
  • decommissioning of the existing water treatment technology
  • construction of a new container-type Water Treatment Plant building
  • delivery and installation of fittings, installations, and technological equipment in the new facility
  • construction of a treated water retention tank with a capacity of 148 m³
  • construction of a backwash water settling tank together with a pumping station and a measurement-and-valve chamber
  • performance of technological start-up, staff training, and preparation of the facility for operation

Implemented solutions

The new water treatment plant in Goleńsko was designed and constructed based on modern groundwater treatment technologies, enabling effective removal of undesirable contaminants and improvement of drinking water quality parameters. The applied technological solutions ensure stable and safe operation of the facility as well as high quality of supplied water.

The implementation of the project increased water availability to 73,945.00 m³ per year, representing an increase of approximately 32,335.00 m³ annually compared to the previous capacity of the facility.

This translated into improved living conditions for residents and the inclusion of additional consumers in the upgraded water supply system. The modern infrastructure also allows for reduced network failure rates, improved water pressure, and increased supply security.

As Ecol-Unicon, we delivered the investment under the “design and build” formula, acting as the general contractor and being responsible for the entire investment process – from preparation of documentation, through delivery and installation of technological equipment, to commissioning, operational optimization, and handover of the facility for use. The completed modernization represents an important step toward the sustainable development of the municipality and the long-term safety of its residents.

The project was made possible thanks to financial support from the Polish Government Fund “Polski Ład” and the Provincial Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in Łódź.

How was the project in Goleńsko implemented?

The project in Goleńsko was carried out by a team with many years of experience in the implementation of water supply infrastructure investments. This allowed for efficient execution of all project stages – from preparation of design solutions to commissioning of the installation – while maintaining the required quality and safety standards.

The result is improved drinking water quality, greater stability and security of supply, and increased comfort of everyday use, which has a direct impact on residents.
