Together with Ocean Protect, Ecol-Unicon was honored to supply a brand new ESK 20 separator in the concrete body for investment in Stanhope, Victoria.
As part of a broader environmental infrastructure investment, Ocean Protect commissioned the delivery. Ecol‑Unicon provided an ESK 20 coalescence separator, ensuring full compliance with international environmental protection standards while maintaining simplified installation and reliable long-term operation.
The separator’s purpose was to efficiently treat stormwater runoff by removing petroleum-based pollutants, contributing to the site’s overall sustainability strategy. The solution needed to be robust, tested, and compliant with EN 858 Class I standards. With a compact, ready-to-install, and high-efficiency system, it is designed for long-term, low-maintenance operation.
Scope of Work
- Delivery of a fully prefabricated ESK 20 coalescence separator, tailored for installation in a concrete body.
- Collaboration with the Australian partner Ocean Protect, who oversaw on-site installation and integration into the local stormwater management system.
- The ESK series is CE-certified, meets the requirements of EN 858 Class I (discharge concentration below 5 mg/L), and provides a compact, ready-to-install system. Its prefabricated concrete structure allows quick deployment and high durability.
Applied solutions
The ESK 20 separator is a high-efficiency coalescence unit designed for the removal of mineral oils, hydrocarbons, and suspended solids from stormwater and industrial runoff.
It offers:
- Nominal flow capacity: 20 dm³/s
- Oil retention volume: 480 dm³
- Overall unit diameter: 1200 mm
- Inlet/outlet: DN 200 mm
- Total weight: 3100 kg, with the heaviest module weighing 2300 kg
The design includes coalescence filters, integrated bypass (optional), and sedimentation zone to maximise separation performance and minimise maintenance requirements.
