The modernization of two water treatment stations has commenced in Mrągowo Municipality. These stations supply water to hundreds of households in localities such as Użranki, Zalec, Notyst, Grabowo, Głazowo, Dobroszewo, Krzywe, and Borowo (Sorkwity Municipality). The existing water supply infrastructure requires upgrades to meet increasing demands for water quality and availability.
Water treatment stations play a crucial role in delivering clean and safe drinking water. They purify water drawn from deep wells, removing excess iron, manganese, and other contaminants while ensuring proper physicochemical parameters. The modernization process includes replacing outdated technology with more efficient and energy-saving systems, as well as implementing advanced automation solutions for precise water treatment management.
As Ecol-Unicon, we are responsible for the comprehensive reconstruction of water treatment stations in Grabowo and Użranki, including the construction of new facilities and modernization of existing infrastructure.
Acting as the General Contractor, we ensure that every aspect of the project – from construction to implementing modern systems – aligns with local conditions and guarantees long-term efficiency. The investment will enhance the overall efficiency of the water supply system, improve water quality and supply stability, and maintain optimal water pressure, benefiting local residents.
The total investment cost amounts to PLN 6.47 million. The municipality has secured funding of PLN 2.67 million (net) from the Rural Development Program for 2014-2020.
Scope of work
- construction of new technological buildings for both water treatment stations
- installation of retention tanks for treated water
- installation of a complete water treatment system
- installation of new power generators
- modernization of existing deep wells
- reconstruction of water and sewage networks
- installation of a new station control system
- installation of new electrical, control, and signaling cables
Water Treatment Station Capacity in Grabowo:
- Average daily intake: 168.0 m³/d
- Maximum hourly intake: 38.0 m³/h
Water Treatment Station Capacity in Grabowo in Użranki:
- Average daily intake: 136.5 m³/d
- Maximum hourly intake: 13.3 m³/h
Implemented solutions
The modernization includes implementing state-of-the-art, fully automated water treatment systems that enable continuous monitoring of water quality and process optimization. New retention tanks will increase water availability and improve network pressure, directly enhancing user comfort.
Thanks to our expertise in investment execution, the project incorporates solutions that enhance infrastructure reliability and optimize operational costs. Process automation will provide better water parameter control and improve the energy efficiency of the entire system. This investment marks a significant step toward improving the regional water supply infrastructure and raising water service standards.
Current project progress
As of January, piling work, foundation construction, and water and sewage network reconstruction have been completed. We are currently focusing on assembling container buildings and retention tanks. In the coming months, we plan to install filters, technological and electrical systems, followed by testing and commissioning. The project is progressing according to schedule, with completion expected in May 2025.
