HYDROZONE Benefit Retention Tank

Retention in harmony with nature
HYDROZONE Benefit Tanks represent an innovative approach to the challenges of water retention and rainwater systems. Stored rainwater is a natural source of soft water, making it ideal for use in cities and municipalities, industrial and commercial facilities, as well as residential construction.
Thanks to the integrated modules, the tank allows for the efficient use of rainwater, which is crucial in the context of sustainable water resource management. This solution offers tangible benefits both for the environment and from an economic perspective. It reduces costs associated with fees for lost retention and retains water at the source, helping to meet the requirements of European directives and the current Water Law.
An additional option is the use of a hydrophytic pre-treatment system, which involves planting vegetation that aids in the natural purification of water. Blue-green infrastructure, incorporating such solutions, is gaining popularity due to its ecological efficiency and harmonious integration into the landscape.
Depending on your needs, the HYDROZONE Benefit tank can be equipped with one or more functions for utilising the stored water, such as:
- irrigation of green areas,
- municipal purposes (e.g., street cleaning, sewer flushing, fountain supply),
- firefighting purposes,
- green roofs.
Benefits of use
Increased rainwater retention – HYDROZONE Benefit tanks effectively retain water at the site of rainfall, improving local retention.
Municipal use – Water stored in the tanks can be reused for various municipal purposes, such as street cleaning, fountain supply, or irrigation of green areas.
Safe discharge of excess water – They effectively discharge excess rainwater from areas with high surface sealing (e.g., city centres, residential estates, and industrial zones), thereby minimising the risk of flooding.
Pollution reduction – The integration of pre-treatment devices (such as oil separators and settling tanks) with the DZB reinforced concrete tank in one unit reduces surface water pollution.
Supporting infiltration – When infiltration is applied, the tanks enhance rainwater infiltration, preventing soil desiccation and supporting the natural water cycle in the environment.
Versatile land use – Tanks installed underground allow for the surface above them to be used for practical purposes (such as parking) or recreational activities.
Modular construction – Facilitates quick installation and flexible adaptation of the tanks to the shape of the site, allowing for efficient use of available space.
Installation in traffic areas – The tank’s design is highly resistant to challenging conditions. Therefore, installation in traffic areas such as streets and motorways is possible.
Ideal solution for highly urbanised areas – Thanks to their compact and modular design, the tanks are perfectly suited for densely built-up areas where space is limited.
Monitoring and management – Connection to the Bumerang Smart system allows for real-time monitoring and management of rainwater, increasing the efficiency of the retention system.
Asset in building certification – HYDROZONE Benefit tanks have been assessed for their environmental, human, and surrounding impact, as confirmed by the EcoKarta certificate. Incorporating these solutions in your investment project allows for the acquisition of additional points when obtaining LEED, BREEAM, DGNB certifications.
The retention tank selection calculator is a free tool that allows for the quick selection of the appropriate tank from the Hydrozone series, using the most reliable rainfall data from the Polish Atlas of Rainfall Intensities developed by RetencjaPL.
Detailed charts, a selection sheet available for download, and the quick and easy ability to modify any parameter are the distinguishing features of our tool.
Our calculator can be found on the WaterFolder platform.

Application
HYDROZONE Benefit retention tanks have a modular construction, allowing for installation even in densely built areas. The use of pre-treatment systems offers extensive opportunities not only for retention, but also for utilising the stored water. Installing the HYDROZONE Benefit solution in a city enhances the flood safety of its residents.
There are many ways to use rainwater in the city. We can use it to water urban green spaces such as parks, squares, urban gardens, sports facilities, lawns, or flowerbeds. It is also ideal for use in all types of sanitary facilities and for firefighting purposes.
We will advise on the best solution for your city or municipality.
A priority for potential clients in residential construction is finding a place that is a zone of peace and relaxation. The answer to these expectations could be the creation of a relaxation zone powered by rainwater from the HYDROZONE Benefit tank as part of the development project. Stored and pre-cleaned soft rainwater is ideally suited for irrigating green areas. This solution can provide cost savings to the housing community.
Advantages of HYDROZONE Benefit tanks in residential areas:
- watering green areas,
- prevention of flooding in underground garages and basements, .
- attractive recreational area for residents – thanks to the use of a hydrophytic pre-treatment system
Retention tanks for industrial and commercial facilities
For many newly designed industrial and commercial facilities, the use of a retention tank may be a requirement. These tanks also play a crucial role in protecting facilities from flooding during heavy rainfalls, effectively managing excess rainwater.
Thanks to their design, which allows installation in trafficked areas, the HYDROZONE Benefit tank does not take up valuable space. The area directly above it can be developed in various ways, e.g., as car park or storage space.
Utilising rainwater for the operation of the facility can bring financial savings to the owners. Stored rainwater not only reduces the use of mains water but also helps avoid fees for lost retention and environmental resource usage.
Furthermore, water from the tank can be utilised for purposes such as:
- fire protection,
- cleaning car parks,
- irrigating of green areas.

Construction and installation
The HYDROZONE Benefit retention tanks in version 2.0 are an integral combination of pre-treatment devices (e.g., oil separators and suspended matter settling tanks), DZB or TCM reinforced concrete tanks, and modules for utilising rainwater.
Rainwater is initially directed to the EOW-1 centrifugal settler, where suspended matter with a density greater than 1 kg/dm3 is retained. In the centrifugal settlers, in addition to gravity, centrifugal force is also utilised. The centrifugal motion of the sewage entering the device is induced by a directional deflector. The outlet from the centrifugal chamber occurs in the central part of the tank (central pipe).
Subsequently, rainwater is directed to the high-efficiency ESL-Z petroleum products separator. In this device, due to the process of gravitational sedimentation, flotation, and coalescence, while flowing through the multi-stream lamellar insert, separation of suspended matter and light liquids (oil substances) and floating substances contained in the water/sewage introduced into the separator occurs.
After medium purification, it is directed to the retention tank. Water discharge from the tank can be done gravitationally or under pressure. If necessary, water can be discharged in a controlled manner.
The operation of the HYDROZONE tank is monitored using installed sensors, and the management of collected water and installed devices is carried out through the Bumerang Smart system.
